Oh wow, that's really neat!

I might have missed this post from somewhere but....what about auctions? Will those be hosted in the active sale posts still? Sorry if this was posted elsewhere I'm kinda sleep deprived rn lol
- "Marketplace" is for posting individual toys for sale/auction only. If you have 4 or less toys for sale, please make individual posts to sell them under here.
😊 there is a title tag for auctions in the market place.

Im still having issues with being unable to reply in the market place. I use mobile version so Im not sure if this is only a mobile issue. Im able to access the market place threads and reply in the discusion but Im unable to post comments in the old market place board. Heres a screenshot of what im reffering to

- We are going to start enforcing these rules. I am making the active sales posts read only until 9/27/2020 where all those threads will retire unless they are group threads with 5+ toys and the seller personally requests we move their thread for them to the new group sales area. Otherwise toys will have to be individually posted in the "Marketplace" or you will have to make a new group sales post under "Group Sales (5+ toys)."
I believe this answers your question 😊

This all feels needlessly complex. I don't really get what was wrong with how it was running prior to this
thank you for your feedback. what would make this less complex?
described is what we normally do, but instead we have a form guide that allows users to post toys for sale in less than a minute if they have the photos taken. i've also described how you just have to press a button instead of typing anything so the seller knows you are interested. i have rules in place so that the marketplace is now used instead of the regular threads, but still allow people who dont want to take a billion pictures of their toys if they are selling more than 5 to post large toy sales threads as per usual. it's pretty much the same, just with helper buttons now!

Streamlined posting if one thing is ok but why does it matter if someone can press a button to tell someone theyre interested. Usually people will haggle on a toy anyways so its not really removing any steps. Just making the first step different.

People are going to take a billion photos of their toys anyways because people often want to see the turnaround so they dont get the one-view-baddragon-treatment. Also if you dont post a billion pics in a sales thread, peopke always ask for them later so it's still not really removing a step or anything.

I believe that you misunderstood what Bun is saying. IF you dont want to take a million photos of your 5+ toys for sale and post them all individually in the market place then you are free to post them the conventional way, as a group in the "Group Sales" area.

If you only have one to four toys to sell then posting them in the market place is quick and easy. Plus, buyers get to browse through those toys more easily as they dont have to click on individual posts to view the toys. They simply find a toy they like, click on it, and then click on the "inquire now" button. If they want to haggle, discuss shipping, ask more questions then they are able to there. Also, if you want to take a billion photos of your one toy, you can also do that!! Linking to imgur is still possible in market place.

Edit: or I've misunderstood you! That is a possibility too.

kitty handled the second part of that and im in agreement of just giving people more options for what makes them more comfortable to sell their toys, as well as most people who do group sales dont do individual photos of their toys unless requested.

so, about the button.. it was supposed to be a pay now feature, but since people want to haggle about prices and shipping, it wasn't wise to use it. We can't remove it as it's a part of the update and I don't want to risk messing things up, so there are just different options to get in touch with the seller. No need to use it and i can see it being a needless thing, but we turned what would have been a useless button, into something that at least does something lmao so hopefully you can understand that. you dont have to use it and can just click on someones head on the left hand side and send them a pm instead if you so choose.

Okay, so let me start by acknowledging that I'm a bit of a curmudgeon and don't like change very much, so I'm trying to be open to the fact that other people saw a need for this and have put in time and work to make it happen and that I will probably (lol) survive it.

That said, here are the things I don't like:

1. I like to buy multiple toys from a seller because it increases my chances of snagging a great deal. I don't like that sellers listing 4 toys (or 3 or 2) will be separated into 4 different sales posts. It makes it hard to see that a bundle may be possible. Could the seller's username be shown on the main marketplace page so that buyer could at least visually scan for multiple listings? I see that the additional listings are available once I open a listing, but that means having to click on a listing to check if the seller has multiples.

2. Further, if I find 3 listings I want to see about bundling, I'm now going to either PM the seller or go into discussion on one of the listings. Either way, there is less visibility to buyers interested in one of the other toys who don't know I'm asking about it in a different listing's discussion thread. Plus it could be confusing to other buyers interested in the toy actually listed and seeing questions about one of the seller's other listings. Or will it be a rule to only discuss bundling in a PM? And only openly discuss the toy listed? (in which case I have to make a private inquiry or go to all 3 threads to ask questions openly instead of asking everything openly in one place.)

3. I also don't like that I now have to check 2 different places to find toys for sale: the Marketplace for individual listings, and the Group Sales post for larger sales. No doubt I will periodically forget that one or the other exists. I already forget about the trade thread most of the time.

I do like being able to scroll through pictures of individual toys and prices without having to click on each listing, but that's not really worth the loss in utility for me personally. It seems well-suited for buyers and sellers only dealing with a single toy though.

Sorry this all sounds so negative. I really do appreciate the fact you all are activel to improve Dragon Moor, and I'll probably adapt eventually. I just personally like the old style better. It felt more personal and interactive, whereas this feels like eBay. Just one collector's opinion though.

As for the other changes:

1. I prefer boxy avatars, but I don't feel too strongly about it.
2. I like having more reaction and in-text emojis!
3. For the group sales, is it optional or default for tags to show up in the listing title? It's awesome that tags are available to improve searching, but for the couple of sales I've noticed using them, they take up a lot of space and make it harder to read the title of the sale in the Group Sales list. Could the tags maybe be listed at the bottom of the sales post and not visible on the Group Sales page?

1. Yeah ill see if that can show up!

2. If you go to a user's profile that you want to buy a toy from to see what other toys they have listed, there is the marketplace tab. There you could see the other toys they have listed if you wanted to ask them about bundling toys for sale. Publicly or privately is your choice! However, it has always been the sellers right to sell to whom they choose, so if someone is complaining that they didnt see you claim the toy first, that happens all the time regardless. when interested in a toy, i usually pm and dont comment at all and i know others do so as well. Buyers kinda have to get over the fact they dont always see someone showing interest in the toy they wanted first, even in the old format.

This more marketplace type feature has been something a ton of people in the community have been wanting for years, even from before this site existed and we were on another for years, so i wanted to finally be able to give people that. It is a lot better from a sellers perspective, which no offense, I was taking as a higher priority than the buyers, but also being able to filter the toys with the tags should also make it easier to find which toys you want as a buyer. As well as the solo toy sales gives you the ability to just scan and quickly tell what toys you are and aren't interested in.

I will say this, I could do a poll to see if people want things to be turned back to how it was, if they want everyone to use the marketplace and no group area, or if things keep all the changes they have, if that interests you? As I cant just change things it seems a lot of people like for the minority.

And ill look into the placement for the tags!

Great suggestion. I edited the template for the grid view and now the seller's username is visible. You can also see the member tooltip including their feedback when hovering over the username like you can in other areas!

Too early for me to give feedback about usage!!
I can see the benefits to these changes though as I get pretty fed up with entering individual posts to see exactly whats up for offer in their toy sale lots.

Would this make searching for international sellers simpler then?
I feel like all of us who are not in the US tend to get drowned out in the posts and I was actually going to make a note of this before these changes.

Edit to add. Extra work in the old format being an aussie and not all US sellers sell to us and its not stated in the thread title (which is understandable. Theres a character limit) So the button for international sales is welcomed.

Edit edit - Yes I read the entire thread ;)

Hi!!! I appreciate you joining in the conversation! Speaking of international real quick though, we have the DM** (lol) celebration going on that I'm not sure you participated in yet and we are also shipping prizes to international users so check it out if you'd like a chance to win some free toys and squishes!

Back to the topic at hand though, searching for international sellers should be a cinch! I made a europe test post to show what I'm talking about.

at the top right of the marketplace is this filter button where you can select any prefix to filter them by! so if people are using theirs right, you should be able to sort by any area!

9626
more prefixes can be added on request!

9627

here's it in action!

We have the same filter accessible in the group sales area as well!!

Ya bloody beaut !
Yeah this is is great. My only other suggestion if it wasnt mentioned already (Im over tired) is weeding out sellers who wont ship to my country.
I.e. weeding them out so they dont display in my searches. Its gut wrenching seeing pretties and knowing the seller won't sell them to me 😭

Yeah I saw and just entered! 💜

oooo this is the kinda feedback i need! thanks! I often view things from a sellers lens so getting buyer ideas is much needed. I did in the form when posting a toy for sale leave a box for people to mark if they are willing to ship internationally or not, but when it comes to filtering by it, that may be tricky. I will try to see if we can add multiple prefixes and possibly sort through multiple of them at once. That might be a paid add-on.. but I think it would help a ton. I'll have to do some research and get back to you on that one. Possibly a work around could be to show on the marketplace page if they ship internationally or not, so you could just tell from a glance in case we aren't able to make it filterable. What do you think?

I'm glad you understood what I meant lmao I can't believe I said BD instead of DM for a minute 😂 good luck in it!

Cool as beans!
Im glad some of my feedback was useful. I try to be mindful when giving feedback (negative or positive) on any situation.
If its possible though it would help a tonne. Since theres so few aussie sellers, if any at times, I do seek out other countries and cross my fingers.
Edit - Looking at a glance is miles better than diving into the post/ thread! I'd be okay with that compromise if it came down to it. Hopefully other international buyers/ sellers will weigh in on this aspect.
I can only speak from my personal perspective and do not speak for the wider audience.

Haha! It happens ;) I autopiloted with that part and didnt even register it said BD origionally.

Haven't been super active on the Moor recently bc I haven't had spare cash to spend on toys, but I do really like the implementation of the single photo setup in the new marketplace so I can more easily scroll through what folks are selling & not have to dig through threads so much! It's a little early to give my definite opinion on all of the changes since it hasn't launched fully, but from what I can see now I do feel like it's a step in the right direction, and I appreciate the work that's gone into it. I'm sure there'll be bugs to work out along the way (no launch is ever 100% perfect on the first run), but I'm excited. :) I'm also looking forward to the tagging system!

A quick thought-- should the marketplace listing have a box to check if you (as a seller) have pets, live in a smoking home, etc etc? That way it would be easier for folks with pet allergies or folks who prefer buying from smoke-free homes to narrow down toys to make sure they're getting what they're looking for.

edit: I might just be a clown, but I can't upload a resource image for my selling post, LMAO. Not sure if it's under maintenance while y'all are making changes or if it's just a bug? If I try to select "Does not have a file", it won't let me click on it to upload something.

I can add that field in a bit!

i went through every aspect of the form in my initial post, so if anyone had any questions they would know what is going on with it. There are currently no known bugs with the form and the checked marked boxes are as should be. To upload a new resource image, you must go to the upload new resource image area and press choose file to select your photo.
