Hi everyone!
The last announcement on The Moor included a poll regarding the implementation of more Auction rules. While everyone’s feedback was very important to us, We came to realize that our feelings on the situation are much stronger than anticipated- which was heavily influenced by the discussions and responses that have transpired since the announcement. Everyone had really great ideas, which is how we found a new rule that makes us as staff more comfortable. Not to mention that we care more about our moral integrity and doing what feels like the right thing to keep people more protected. Especially when I personally have seen some red flags that I feel like I cant ignore.
As such; the other moderators and I will start enforcing the rule that an account must be one week old and have at least 3 feedback or vouches from other users before they are able to participate in auctions. Vouches are statements of good faith from people who have been good community members for at least 3 months or longer. It's the best we can do. This rule will ONLY affect auctions, but does affect buyers AND auctioneers. Regular sales will be left unchanged. In my eyes (and the eyes of my moderators,) this is the best and safest solution that won't stop new users from wanting to join as most people don't use DM solely for auctions.
If you do not like this arrangement, there are other options for you to use for your Auctioning purposes. Remember that this is for the benefit of sellers and bidders both; and we are doing what we believe is right to keep you and others safe.
We're very sorry for any inconvenience involving this topic, but we really do feel this is the appropriate step to take.
Give us time to make DM reflect these rules, but they are in place from now on. Auctions can start up again.
Please remember to remain respectful to one another.
