I definitely get the point of view that it sucks to be limited at all, but its true, its the nature of life in general and most people have to wait naturally to get an RR from drops and stuff anyway, its sorta kinda similar to just the natural nature of dildos and acquiring an RR.
This is my version of the "We're all adults here" POV ^.^

Just gonna say it, I feel like voting for no prereqs because "we're all adults here" is a recipe for adults who are less educated on scamming/less experienced/just plain unlucky to get scammed.

It's also tantamount to rolling out a welcome mat for scammers.

I just personally feel like advocating for fewer restrictions because you think you'll be fine is demonstrating a complete lack of care towards people who definitely won't be fine. I appreciate Bun so much for protecting the people here and I wouldn't be here if she didn't.

I COMPLETELY agree with Idra. I care so much about this community and I would HATE for ANYONE to be scammed, whether that be by misuse of paypal OR artificial auction inflation. I dont care if they are "adults and should know better".

On a similar note, if ANYONE has any questions about paypal, contact a mod and we will GLADLY walk you through the process and safe selling guidelines.

Oh I'm so sorry that was not my intention at all, I was drawing a connection between being adults, and being able to allow a regulation or two; or being able to handle missing an auction during a probationary period. My intent was never to infer that everyone is on their own, and I sincerely apologize if I came off that way! ^.^

I firmly believe everyone in this thread wants the same thing: a safe place to conduct business and/or socialize; and the options seem to be zero regulation (where I feel there are more chances for the unlucky to be preyed on) or a merit based system, which I feel provides most people with a safety net?

I dunno I just think that since this applies to auctions only, and auctions seem to be contentious, some regulation to protect individuals and the community at large feels sensible.

Again I'm terribly sorry if you thought I was being heartless! ♡.♡

i just want to remind everyone, this is JUST about auctions. its not like new people cant immediately join the buying and selling which is way more common than auctions in the first place, even though auctions will probably ramp since the aurora drop. It's not like most nevv people will be turned off because most people aren't just coming for auctions.

Oh no! I'm talking about people who don't want regulations at all, not people who think adults should be able to handle some restrictions! You're fine :)
