I am unsure on the history of the second mask if its had filters attached in the past.
My first mask has an old filter that has had the filter attached in the past but it appears undamaged.

So yes again, affirming my question, are the hoods alone safe to wear? Can the asbestos get into them?

If one more person says "no because the old filters had asbestos" I am going to flip a table.
