Thoughts on Kelvin and firmness recommendations

I [M] have recently ordered a Small / Soft too see, if it is really that effective for prostate simulation. Also, I like perfer shape over that of Nox for example. Based on what I have found on Reddit, I am asking myself, if I would have been better off ordering a medium or firm one. My intention was simple: Kelvon has a 2-inch knot, and I know that will be challenging because I also own a M glyph with an 2 inch knot. So, order soft, to make the insertion less complicated.
However, Glyph's knot is massive and begins with an abrupt bump, while Kelvin's knot appears to spawn from a smooth transition out of the shaft. The toy is very short and at some point of the shaft rather narrow but Kelvin has also a 2-inch knot. And the rest of Kelvin is not really massive, with the smallest bit being only 1,2 inch broad. So, did I make a mistake by choosing a soft firmness?

These toys are such an (expensive!) learning curve, requiring, in some cases, a lot of trial and error before you find something that works the way you want it to. What may give one person that perfect stimulation, may not work as well for you. My partner gets excellent stim from EE's quine toys, and almost always has a hands-free orgasm from using them, especially Motown. That toy is quite large, though, and it definitely might not give others the same satisfaction. Softer toys can be more difficult to use for anal play, especially if the shaft is longer; it's usually inserting it that's the problem. With softer firmnesses, too, you are likely not to feel any texture; a medium firmness might have worked better, but there's no way to know until you give the one you ordered a few tries. Also, the thing with Kelvin is that the knot isn't really a knot. You can't really insert it. It's a swell near the base that you can kind of grind on but it doesn't pop inside and definitely can't stay there if you manage to do anything with it. I don't think you would have had any trouble with it in medium firmness because it's not a traditional knot.
